"Since then, I have learned that stars shine their brightest, and the moon gracefully goes through her phases wrapped in the dark blue blanket of the sky. The planets come and go from our view, and the galaxies are a painting whose details become illuminated, all because of this blue.
This blue I once saw as empty has since become a universe, the universe that is me. I close my eyes and see stars scattered across my eyelids, and when I open them, they decorate the world around me. I found the moon that dwells within my chest, and I remind myself that even thought she goes through phases where she appears less full, the masterpiece she became is still a masterpiece, even when you can’t see the whole picture. I have found the planets hidden in the creases and marks on my skin, and the galaxies within me that stitch together every part of me given to me by my mother."
